Seymour and Hilburn Selected to Attend American Legion Boys State
Cassville High School (CHS) juniors, Charlie Seymour and Jeremiah Hilburn, have been selected to represent CHS at the 77th session of the American Legion Boys State of Missouri this summer on the campus of University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
Missouri Boys State is an eight-day hands on learning opportunity where participants will study the operation and fundamentals of government. The camp strives to lead students down the path of individual success and leadership.
Students interested in attending Boys State must complete an application process that includes teacher recommendations. Representatives from the local American Legion chapter make the final selection.
“We are proud of Charlie and Jeremiah for earning this opportunity,” said Mr. Jeff Swadley, CHS Principal. “I have no doubt they will represent CHS well at Boys State and will gain valuable skill sets that will be beneficial to them beyond the walls of our high school.”
After completing the eight day camp, both young men will be eligible to apply for over $200,000 in scholarships.
Seymour is the son of Chris and Angela Seymour. Hilburn is the son of Jeremy Hilburn and Jamie Hilburn.
