District Seeks Community Input During Upcoming Meeting
Over 80 individuals have been invited to share their thoughts, ideas and dreams for Cassville R-IV during an upcoming strategic planning meeting scheduled for Monday, February 12.
Over the past 18 months the School Improvement Committee, including administration, teacher representation from the primary, intermediate, middle and high school buildings, as well as a special education representative have met frequently to evaluate the district’s goals and the programs that make up the school.
“As a result of the work done by the School Improvement Committee, the district identified the need for community engagement as we begin the strategic planning process,” stated Jill LeCompte, Assistant Superintendent at Cassville R-IV.
The strategic plan will focus on the districts priority of developing college and career ready students. This priority will be achieved by:
- Providing a 21st century learning environment
- Focusing on math and literacy for all students
- Strategically responding to address students individual needs
- Developing grading practices that reflect student learning
“In partnership with our Board of Education and the School Improvement Committee, we have been able to define a clear set of goals and priorities for our district,” said Dr. Richard Asbill, Cassville R-IV School Superintendent.
“A vital piece of this puzzle is engaging our parents and community at a level that has not been done in the past. Our goal is enhance this partnership and our hope is that in return our community will be engaged and excited to partner with the district as we move forward in pursuit of proving the best learning experience for our students.”
The February 12 meeting will include community members and students that have been identified by teachers and parents as someone who may have an interest in helping improve the district.
“We hope this initial meeting will start the conversation between school and community as to how we can do what is best for kids at Cassville R-IV,” stated LeCompte.
