CCTA Banquet: Celebrating our Teachers
Calling all Super Heroes!
The Cassville Community Teachers Association (CCTA) took some time to celebrate the outstanding teachers at Cassville R-IV! CCTA members enjoyed an evening of fun, food and celebration in honor of the 2015-2016 award receipients. Award winners are as followed:
2016 Retiree: Joyce Cook
Quarter Century Club: Jennifer McCrackin and Tyne Rabourn
Cassville Education Fund Grant Receipients: Adam Hoskins and the kindergarten program
Hospkins was awarded $1,650 and will purchase government and geography curriculum that will be utilized by ninth, eleventh and twelfth grade students.
The kindergarten teachers were awarded $1,425 that will be used to purchase a handwriting program for their students.
CEF is a permanent endowment used to fund educational needs for the Cassville R-IV School District. Academic grants are awarded to teachers on an annual basis for educational programs. All grant making decisions are determined by local committee members and volunteers.
Board Scholarship winners: Maggie Cornell and Savannah Essary
Board Scholarships are awarded to a Cassville teacher that is currently pursuing an advanced degree. Board of Education selects scholarship recipient.
Young Educator of the Year: Natalie Ward
The recipient is selected by committee from nominations based on the following criteria: classroom innovation and pupil rapport, professional development, community involvement, professional leadership, utilization of resources, relationship with staff, flexibility, initiative, judgement and professionalism. Young Educator of the Year must have been teaching 5 years or less. Teacher must be nominated to receive this award.
Teachers of the Year: Pamela Furguson-White, preschool and Julie Dillow, CHS Special Education
Teachers must be nominated. The recipient is selected by committee from nominations based on the following criteria: classroom innovation and pupil rapport, professional development, community involvement, professional leadership, utilization of resources, relationship with staff, flexibility, initiative, judgement and professionalism.
Friend of Education: Jeanne Lambel
Jeanne was selected by CCTA based on her commitment to the CHS Choral Department.
