Spring Chill Pickleball Classic: March 15
Cassville High School Senior Beta Club will host the Spring Chill Pickleball Classic on Saturday, March 15.
For most players, this will be the first outdoor tournament of the year...cold, windy, and not for the faint of heart. This tournament supports Cassville High School’s Senior Beta Club. This tournament will be played on 12 courts at the Cassville courts at the City Park. This is a USSP Certified Tournament. Those who are USSP members will receive $10 discounts.
Join us on Saturday, March 15, starting at 9am (Men's and Women's Doubles), for a day of pickleball at Cassville City Park. Mixed Doubles will begin at 12:30pm, but may start earlier if the morning moves faster than normal and all players are ready to start. This tournament promises all levels of competition to help benefit the Cassville High School Senior Beta Club.
This tournament is US Senior Pickleball approved. To join USSP, go to USSeniorPIckleball.com, only $20 per year. Multi-year payment discounts available. The tournament will limit registration to 350 players, or when the tournament director deems the day's events are full. Brackets/Events will be round robin or pool play. Players are guaranteed 4 games per event. The tournament director reserves the right to modify event formats as needed depending on registrations. Events may be merged or split based on registration numbers.
This tournament features three categories:
- Mixed Doubles (Ages 10-49 with multiple skill levels; and USSP Ages 50+ with multiple skill levels)
- Men's Doubles (Ages 10-49 with multiple skill levels; and USSP Ages 50+ with multiple skill levels)
- Women's Doubles (Ages 10-49 with multiple skill levels; and USSP Ages 50+ with multiple skill levels)
Brackets or pools with 7 teams or less: Each game will be played to 15 points, win by 2.
Brackets with 8 teams or more, the bracket will be split into pools. Top 2 teams from each pool advance to medal bracket. Ex) 1st place team in pool A plays against 2nd place team in pool B. 1st place team in pool B plays 2nd place team in pool A. The winners of these matches go on to play for 1st and 2nd place. The losers play for 3rd and 4th place. One game to 15 points, win by 2.
Brackets may be combined or split as needed considering equitable skill assessment or a double round robin format may be used at the tournament director's discretion. Additional age splits will be considered based on number of entries.
The tournament director reserves the right to combine skill levels if felt necessary and make adjustments to match length / format to optimize tournament flow and maximize number of play time for all players. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, awards will be based on the original division and not the combined bracket. All players will be notified of changes before play begins.
The order of finish will be determined by (1) Total matches won; (2) Results of head-to-head competition, and then by (3) Total point differential.
Medals awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams.
USSP has a points system to award prizes to the top finishers each year (USSP members only). In the past, prizes with a retail value of $20,000 were awarded to the top 10 point winners in each age group for both men and women on an annual cycle. In 2025, the prize points will begin in January and run through the end of December.
